Join JUMP and the Japan-America Society of Northwest Florida (JASNWFL) on Saturday, October 7 at the Naval Aviation Museum for an event to reunite and honor those who have served in Japan. This joint event will feature speakers such as Consul General of the Consulate General of Japan in Miami Ken Okaniwa and retired Navy Rear Adm. James D. Kelly, former Commander of Naval Forces Japan, and include entertainment by an ensemble by Marco Lienhard, the renowned Japanese drum and Shakuhachi bamboo flute player from New York, and Mayumi Shara, a drummer playing jazz, blues and R&B from New Orleans. The event is free and open to the public.
Following the speakers' remarks will be a reception on the USS Cabot flight deck, ending at 4:00 pm. Tables representing U.S. bases in Japan in places such as Okinawa, Sasebo, Iwakuni, and Yokosuka will be set up from 12:00pm to 1:00pm, allowing service members to reunite at the tables of interest.
